Football Tours to Spain

The Pedigree

Spain and football are virtually synonymous. The recent and historical dominance of Real Madrid in Europe and the mastery of the passing game by Barcelona and the national team define a country steeped in tradition.

It wasn’t always this way. Spain’s move towards the technical style they are now renowned for began with a certain Johan Cruyff and his ‘total football’ at Barcelona in the late 80’s. In the early 1990’s there began a complete overhaul in the way players were trained, the effects of which are still being felt today.

Football Facts Spain

Who we work with

We are based in the Basque country, a region defined by its footballing tradition. With four La Liga clubs in the region in Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad, FC Eibar and Alaves, you’re spoiled for choice.

All these clubs are steeped in a deep tradition of developing their own players. In 1911 Athletic Bilbao were removed from the Copa Del Rey for fielding an ineligible foreign player. From that point they vowed to only use players produced in the Basque Country and have stuck to this tradition now for over 100 years.

All the clubs in the region place a huge emphasis on their youth systems and you’re sure to take a lot away, either as a player or a coach.

Why the Basque Country?

With great beaches, sun and live sport in abundance, the answer is simple. We also have our very own Head of European Operations, Stuart Lock, based in the region. His passion for sport, local knowledge and connections ensure that all our Basque trips are unforgettable for all the right reasons.

Who’s it for?

The Basque can really provide for all ability levels. From the picturesque settings of Eibar’s facilities in the mountains to the elite standards set by the Bilbao academy, you can have top level coaching without breaking the bank.

This opens it up to club teams, schools, universities and professional academies alike.

When to visit Spain?

The Spanish season is aligned with most other European countries.   Travel between late August to May, ideal for October, February, Easter and May half terms.
