Coleg Sir Gar tour booking announcement

Lucy PorterAfrica, Announcement, Rugby, South Africa

We are delighted to announce Coleg Sir Gar have booked their 2024 rugby tour to South Africa.

Home to the Llanelli Rugby Academy, the college puts an emphasis on the academic success alongside the building of players.

Lanelli Rugby Academy:

The Llanelli Rugby Academy’s main aim is to ensure that young players receive all the support they require to become players and people of quality. This is achieved by offering the best facilities, resources and support available to them.

The rugby academy recognises the importance of ensuring young rugby players have a secondary career, which they can take up, at the end of their professional playing careers. This is crucial to the aims of the academy as they provide everything a young player requires to reach his playing potential and will also provide courses, including coaching development, and services to ensure social, academic and/or vocational development.

We are honoured to enrich the squad by being able to provide this touring experience. This tour will take the 34 students around the Western Cape region to learn the rich culture of the area set in front of the picturesque Waterfront. They will then move north east to the winelands of Stellenbosch, a university town that has produced many of the great South African players. They will finish up with a once-in-a-lifetime safari at Aquila Game Reserve, home to the Big 5.

The tour aims to give the students an insight into life in South Africa, engulf them in the local culture and build bonds with both their teammates and opposition alike.
