The Malta Tens Rugby Festival is a fantastic opportunity for clubs to take their rugby overseas, enjoy competitive action and test themselves against international opposition. The fast-paced tens format offers an exciting alternative to traditional 15-a-side rugby, making it a great option for groups looking to compete, develop as a team and create lasting memories together.


Away from the pitch, Malta offers beautiful coastlines, historic towns and a lively social scene. With organised festival parties included, groups can socialise with other touring teams and enjoy the festival atmosphere, alongside opportunities to explore the island, take boat trips and relax by the Mediterranean. It’s the perfect mix of rugby, team bonding and a memorable overseas experience.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 — Travel to Malta

10:45 -  Arrive at London Gatwick Airport and check in for your flight


Luggage weights and allowances:

One checked bag: Up to 23 kg and up to 90 x 75 x 43cm (35 x 30 x 17 in)

One cabin bag: Max. 23kg / 51lbs up to 56 x 45 x 25cm (22 x 18 x 10 in)


Make your way through to security.


13:45 - Scheduled departure of your flight to Malta International Airport (MLA)


18:00 -  Scheduled arrival at Malta International Airport


Upon arrival, board your coach transfer to your accommodation. Check in for 3 nights, then freshen up and get ready for the welcome gathering party.


Enjoy the party (snack food and 3 pints of beer included). Afterwards, return to your accommodation.


Day 2 — Festival Day

Board your coach transfer to the rugby grounds.


Teams compete fiercely in shortened 10s format matches. Each game lasts 10 minutes each way, providing an intense showcase of skills and teamwork. With 3 to 5 games per team, the action is non-stop, and the camaraderie on the field is unbeatable.


At the end of the tournament, there is an official 3rd half, including a presentation and some drinking games, on the pitch side, where food and some drinks are also provided.


Transfer back to your accommodation, freshen up, and then head out for the fancy dress party night in town (snack food and 3 pints of beer are included).


Day 3 — Free Day in Malta

Buffet breakfast at your accommodation.


Today you have a free day. You can either relax by the pool or we can organise some optional excursions for you:

  • Full-day boat trip to Gozo & Comino onboard a wooden gulet, including transport, buffet lunch, and all drinks (including wine & beer all day) - £60 per person
  • Full day trip to the sister island of Gozo visiting Xlendi Bay, Marsalforn, Inland Sea, Victoria and The Citadel including transport, ferry and traditional picnic lunch - £55 per person
  • Combat archery session including return transfers - £35 per person

Day 4 — Return Journey

Buffet breakfast at your accommodation


Enjoy a day of relaxing before your evening flight back to the UK


Check out of your accommodation and board your coach transfer to Malta International Airport (MLA)


16:15 - Arrive at Malta International Airport (MLA)


19:15 - Scheduled departure of your flight to London Gatwick Airport (LGW)


21:35 - Scheduled arrival at London Gatwick Airport (LGW)


Proceed through customs and baggage claim. Then make your own way back to your clubhouse.
