Johannesburg and Pretoria – South Africa Tour 2021
Come with MSG to experience the balance between these two great cities, located only an hour’s drive apart in the Highveld province of Gauteng, on the South Africa Tour in 2021. Often talked about collectively; Johannesburg or Jozi is the bustling big brother and Pretoria the peaceful little sister. The Gautrain bus and rail networks seamlessly link the siblings to the airport and other destinations, such as Centurion and Sandton.
Jo’burg is the largest city in South Africa and visitors can experience the cosmopolitan spectacle in the economic heart of the country. Having battled against a reputation for crime, it has undergone a renaissance and emerged as a tourist destination in its own right with a real zest for life. Vibrancy is on offer at all times of the day with an enviable art, culture, entertainment and dining scene.
Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa, is one of the most picturesque urban expanses in the country. It is affectionately known as Jacaranda City, after the 70,000 beautifully bright trees that bloom in late spring and paint the town a deep purple. The subtropical climate is pleasing all year round and usually a few degrees better off than Jozi, perfect for indulging the slower-paced way of life the residents rave about.

The Big 5: Johannesburg and Pretoria
Do not leave Jo’burg before visiting one of South Africa’s most important historical sites. The full tour tells the story of South Africa’s journey to democracy and lets you experience all four site locations; the Old Fort, Constitutional Court, Number Four Jail and Women’s Jail.
Another must see, the Museum uses a variety of media to illustrate the rise and fall of oppression and segregation until the implementation of the apartheid system. Part of the Gold Reef City complex, the museum is a beacon of hope towards a future that all South Africans are a part of.
Located in the Hartbeespoort region, west of Centurion, this premier eco-tourism destination focuses on the regeneration of the endangered Cheetah, White Lion and Wild Dog. Visitors to the park will learn about these wonderful African animals and have the chance to see all of the Big 5 and more.
High on a hill overlooking Pretoria lies the massive granite structure that commemorates the pioneers who undertook the Great Trek from 1836. Completed in 1949, the National Heritage site pays tribute to the Dutch speaking settlers that wanted a life beyond the Cape’s British colonial rule.
The beautiful acropolis style buildings form the official seat of the government and watch over the city from its highest point. Visitors can wonder the terraced grounds that house a bronze sculpture of Nelson Mandela and are planted only with native species.
PinkDrive Charity in Johannesburg
Our South Africa Tour is unique and one thing we are passionate about is giving back to the communities and places that welcome us.
PinkDrive NPC was founded in 2009 by Ms. Noelene Kotschan, on the premise that ‘Early detection will help prolong a life’, contributing meaningfully towards preventing as many people as it can, from succumbing to breast, cervical, prostate and testicular cancer. Its primary focus is on citizens without access to reasonable care for these conditions, and who reside in areas where health services do not reach.
OUR mission is to raise ZAR250,000 (£14,000) to help this amazing charity identify cancer at the earliest possible stages. Help US make that difference on your South Africa tour
