MSG partners with The Beast Foundation: Tendai Mtawarira
MSG Tours are excited to announce our partnership with the Rugby World Cup winning Springbok prop – Tendai Mtawarira – and The Beast Foundation.
With 117 caps for South Africa, a Test series victory over the Lions and more recently, a Rugby World Cup, ‘The Beast’ will be a BIG addition to our Supporters’ Tour to South Africa 2021 (literally and metaphorically!)
Whisper it quietly but Tendai knows what it takes to beat the Lions. He had a big influence at scrum time when the Springboks defeated the Lions the last time the teams met in 2009 (just ask Phil Vickery.) Alongside our very own Lion Man, Tim Stimpson (who was a part of the Lions squad that defeated the ‘Boks in 1997,) Tendai provides the perfect counterbalance.
The MSG Supporters will get an exclusive insight from both former Test series winning players who know what it’s like to win a Lions Test Series.
The Beast Foundation
Not only does the introduction of Tendai help us with our goal to #delivertheunexpected, The Beast’s notable charitable efforts off the field certainly align with our promise to travel to South Africa as responsible tourists.
Our partnership with Tendai coincides with his official launch of The Beast Foundation with which he aims to “assist young South Africans in forging their future by helping them access sports training, skills development and education opportunities.”
The Beast Foundation will be the latest inclusion to our One Million Rand project with which we aim to raise around £46,000 to support local charities such as Tendai’s. Our pledge to these charities will ensure that the MSG legacy left in South Africa will aid the revival of the local economy so that the future will be brighter for the next generation of Beasts!
