Rugby Sports Tour to Belgium
Sports Tour Overview
Falling over Easter weekend, the Ghent Easter Rugby Festival is a weekend of fun, food and fantastic rugby. Held in the historical city of Ghent, just one hour outside of Brussels, this exciting festival offers teams from U17s through to senior level, the chance to take on opposition from around Europe.
Leicester Forest RFC saw this as a perfect mid-season destination for their rugby tour in April 2017.
Starting on the Good Friday, the teams were welcomed to the tournament with a Belgian Beer Evening and the chance to meet their potential rivals. The Saturday brought the first of the group matches followed by an all you can eat BBQ and a themed party, all of which is on site at the rugby club.
The organisers then hosted one final party in the centre of Ghent to celebrate the weekend.
Leicester Forest RFC decided to make the most of their time in Belgium by having a day trip to Brussels the following day, sightseeing around the Grand Place, the Manneken Pis and trying out some Belgium frites!
Their journey home was a short ferry from Calais to Dover, after a fun filled, busy weekend in the glorious town of Ghent.
