Belmont School’s Football and Hockey tour to the Basque Region
Belmont School embarked on an exciting football and hockey tour to the Basque region s of Spain and France , visiting cities such as Bilbao, Bayonne, Bordeaux and San Sebastian. Fixtures against l ocal opposition, l ive b asketball, La Liga matches, a stadium tour and more all packed into five days of touring. The tour provided an opportunity for players to compete against local teams, experience a new sporting culture, and explore and learn about both Spain and France ’ s sporting cultural differences. A standout tour highlight for Belmont was the opportunity to take part in a coaching session for the sport of Pelota, a traditional Basque s port.
