Rugby Tours to Alberta
Our rugby tours to Alberta are a played by both male and female teams, you can choose to tour a specific region or mix and match between various travel zones.
One of our favourite tours takes in the fascinating region of Alberta. Located 8.5 hours’ flying time from London, Calgary is the gateway for teams visiting this region. We recommend taking a connecting flight to Edmonton and starting your rugby tour journey in the northern part of Alberta. Games are played at the innovative Ellerslie Rugby Park, home to five full time, manicured fields of exceptionally high standards, a venue that hosts the famous RugbyFest competition annually in May.
Travel south via coach to The Rocky Mountains where Banff lays in wait. Breathe in the fresh, mountain air as you enjoy a spot of wildlife viewing (it’s not uncommon for bears and moose to wander the pedestrianised streets), white water rafting, hiking, relaxing in the hot springs or soaking up the views from the Banff Gondola. This bustling town is the perfect point to pause and recharge batteries as part of any busy rugby tour to Canada itinerary.
Only two hours’ drive east lays Calgary, hosts to the 1986 Winter Olympics with many legacy landmarks still standing. Tour the Olympic Park, take the lift up Calgary Tower to enjoy a stretched view of the region and enjoy a visit to the Calgary Stampede Stadium. On that note, why not combine your summer rugby tour with their annual 7’s tournament held over the first week in July and enjoy the atmosphere generated by 50,000 visitors.
