Lauren a.k.a ‘The Processor’ joins MSG Tours

Mark GardnerAnnouncement, Office

Lauren joins MSG Tours from Derbyshire County Football Association, responsible for the development and delivery of adult participation as part of the FA National Game Strategy. Lauren has extensive knowledge in the sports development sector, with heavy experience in project, budget and events management.

Lauren’s role at MSG Tours is within Commercial Operations, working closely with members of the team to introduce efficiency processes to surpass customer expectations.  In addition, Lauren liaises with our trade partners to maintain our tours’ safety and compliance.

What Lauren says:

“I’d have to say that the best project I’ve worked on would have to be the delivery of the FA Recreational Football Development Programme across Derbyshire. I arrived at Derbyshire County FA in 2013 to a blank canvas and it’s rewarding to see the impact I had within my role with such a sustainable diverse offer now available to hundreds, if not thousands, of people. To know that the sessions will continue to be delivered despite having left the organisation is a rewarding feeling, and to know that I’ve impacted on people’s lives in such a positive way is humbling.

In my free time, I like to make the most of life and live by the motto of ‘some people make it happen’. When I’m not at work, you’ll either find me away for the weekend visiting friends, enjoying some nice food in town, socialising over a drink (or two!), having a kickabout, soaking up the sun on holiday, or hoovering and cleaning my house!

I am also part of the Derbyshire Asbestos Support Team (DAST) Steering Group Committee and volunteer my time to influence their delivery and also educate and raise awareness on the dangers of asbestos. I was involved in the DAST Launch Event and presented ‘my story’ to raise awareness and support other individuals. In May 2015 I ran the Manchester 10k to raise funds for DAST and prior to this in April 2014, I ran the London Marathon. This involved successfully organising numerous fundraising events to raise money for both charities.

“The best destinations I have visited are Australia and Fiji. Australia has so much to offer and within three weeks I’ve only been fortunate to see a snippet of the country. Whilst out in Australia, the highlight for me (one of many!) was flying across to Melbourne to watch the Australian Open. Fiji is incredible and there are far too many highlights but a key memory for me was the lifestyle on the island; it was very relaxed, the sun was shining and the warmth of the locals was infectious.”
