Derby Triathlon Club Challenge Paguera

Another successful season of competing for Derby Triathlon Club culminated in a 30-strong party heading to Mallorca to take on the Challenge Paguera 70.3 distance event.

With a mixture of individual athletes, relays and the all-important supporters/photographers/masseuses, Derby made the headlines for all the right reasons with the largest contingent of British athletes competing in Challenge Paguera from a UK affiliated club.  Led by MSG Tours’ Simon Rolfs, athletes braved the choppy waters following the prior day’s storm to enter the bike leg in glorious sunshine.  With temperatures heating to 27 degrees by late afternoon, Paguera’s locals and holidaymakers cheered the 1000 strong triathletes around the town prior to the grandstand finish.

Elisa Zamora, Derby’s Chilean Social Secretary, was suitably impressed.  “What a fabulous trip! The hotel was in a prime location for our triathlon, well organised bike hire and airport transfers meant we could focus on having fun and enjoying our weekend.  MSG Tours were fabulous, led admirably by Simon, and the excellent after-sales service is commendable.”

With medals, finishers’ t-shirts and personal bests to their names, Derby Triathlon Club made the most of their all-inclusive accommodation base and enjoyed the party atmosphere in this popular beach resort.  Same again next year?
