Rugby Sports Tour to Ireland
Sports Tour Overview
August 2017 saw the ladies of Pencoed RFC travel to Dublin for their pre-season rugby tour. A short ferry from Holyhead to Dublin delivered the 33 strong team to the heart of Ireland in no time and ready to start their tour!
Having arrived on Friday, the Pencoed Ladies got stuck in on day two with a full day at the Naas RFC International Girls’ Rugby Festival which catered for U15s and U18s teams. All teams were welcomed with drinks and snacks and a delicious BBQ throughout the day. Having played fantastically throughout the tournament, the Pencoed ladies secured 4th place in the Tournament and were also runners-up in the Plate final.
With a tough day of rugby playing behind them, the ladies got to sit back and relax on Sunday with a day at the Pool Stages of the Women’s Rugby World Cup at the UCD Bowl in Dublin. With the likes of USA, Spain, France and Australia on the pitch, we’re sure the Ladies got to pick up some tips for their upcoming training sessions!
Monday saw Pencoed return home following a great women’s rugby tour to Dublin.
