Scuba Diving Sports Tour to Greece
Sports Tour Overview
MSG are proud to have launched a scuba diving tour as part of our school sports tour range, which the Chase School, Malvern were the first to go on in October 2018.
The Chase School jumped on a short flight from Heathrow to Athens where they stayed at the Alexander Beach Resort and were welcomed with a dinner at a traditionally Greek Rustin pizza restaurant.
The first day in Athens was spent getting fitted with the relevant scuba diving kit and splitting into two groups; those who have done scuba diving before, and those that need to start from the very beginning. More thorough water training was given to those who have never done it, whilst the more experienced tourists were taken to kickstart their adventure.
That evening, there was a presentation from Luc Lakeman from Blue Yard Hub, an environmental education centre for scuba divers, followed by a Souvlaki Dinner at a local restaurant.
The week was then spent diving in different environments, including an open water dive session from a boat and an open water dive session in Calypso Bay.
Later in the trip, the groups visited the Archelon Turtle Sanctuary to learn about how this project aims to protect the sea turtles and their habitats.
They then had a day in Athens to sightsee, before departing for their return home.
