Rugby Tour to Belgium
Sports Tour Overview
Whilst some of the tours we organise on a regular basis are long-haul and for significant periods or time, we also service those that want to visit somewhere for a shorter duration and closer to home – yet equally rewarding. Similarly, Nelson Youth RFC went to Antwerp in Belgium recently for a rugby tour that combined the experience of playing in the heart of Europe as well as experencing true Belgian culture.
The Unicorns’ sole tour fixture against De Bokkerijders was a huge success and allowed them to establish group identity and put their skills to the test in an end of season finale.
Away from the rugby field, the Welshmen made the most of the cultural experiences on offer and on their doorstep by taking the short ferry journey to Dunkirk. In an act of class, Nelson RFC visited the famous WW2 memorial where Youth players left a wreath and paid respects to fallen soldiers. These activities coupled with some down time to explore the city and soak up Belgian life provided the group with a fitting way to cap off their season back at home.
