Sports Tour Overview

October 2018 saw Rugby School’s U15 hockey team make an indelible mark on French hockey by helping open Bordeaux’s magnificent new water-based facility.  Their touring fixture versus Les Girondins attracted a healthy crowd to experience the first competitive game at this excellent sporting landmark.

Rugby’s four-day tour explored the very best of both the French and Spanish Basque country.  Commencing in Bordeaux, the tour ventured south to Biarritz and on to San Sebastian and Bilbao where matches two and three took place.

Both players and staff alike were equally impressed with the high-end club facilities and quality of opposition, testing the experience and longevity of the British tourists from the push-back.

San Sebastian, home to Trip Advisor’s number one beach, provided the perfect backdrop for a tour that included a variety of activities and Basque-themed meals.  Chaperoned by MSG’s European Head of Operations, Stuart Lock, Rugby School provided a 90% customer service score and commented that “Stuart was very knowledgeable and helped the tour run very smoothly”.
