Modern Foreign Language Study Trip to Germany
Study Trip Overview
Lawrence Sheriff School were one of MSG Tours’ first Study trips who went on a modern foreign language trip to Germany, to the iconic city of Cologne. The trip provided the students with a wonderful opportunity to hone their language skills whilst soaking up German culture and identity. Having the opportunity to get first-hand experience of any country is essential and invaluable to language development and gave them an authentic experience of this whilst also being able to see one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
During the trip they enjoyed tours around Cologne’s historic Cathedral (Kölner Dom), a river cruise down the picturesque Rhein, sampled the delights at the Chocolate Museum as well as being able to purchase some memorabilia from the famous harbour Christmas Markets. Undoubtedly one of the highlights of the tour was having a unique chance to explore one of Cologne’s historic fortresses which ended with a treasure hunt in Boppard town centre. The students benefited hugely from being able to practice and develop their language skills whilst at the same time embracing German heritage and values.
