Cricket Sports Tour to St Lucia and Barbados
Sports Tour Overview
Invicta Cricket set off for the Caribbean to pay a visit to the cricket-mad islands of St Lucia and Barbados.
On arrival in St Lucia, they set up camp in the bustling hub of Rodney Bay. With a whole host of restaurants, a water park, and several shopping outlets within walking distance, it meant the group could explore on foot and maximise their time.
The weather was fantastic as the group kicked off their trip with a training session at the renowned Darren Sammy Cricket Ground, just 10 minutes from the hotel, before playing their opening fixture at the same venue the following day.
And the standard didn’t drop as they hopped across on the short flight to Barbados. One of the trip’s most memorable sporting memories was the night game, played under lights, with the result decided on the final ball, providing a dramatic experience for the spectating parents.
Barbados culminated in a visit to the Kensington Oval to donate money and time to the amazing charity, Sport for Life before stepping on to the historic pitch and meeting West-Indies legend, Franklyn Stephenson.
Along the way the group ventured into the rainforest canopies of St Lucia for a spot of ziplining, jumped into the Caribbean ocean in a purpose-built water park and circled Barbados on a private catamaran. The Caribbean allows teams to experience top class cricket, delve into local life and cuisine and to do it all in paradise surroundings.
