History Study Trip to Alabama
Study Trip Overview
We took 4 history educators on the trip of a lifetime to Alabama, to explore the Civil Rights Trail, visiting the three key cities of the Civil Rights Movement, Birmingham, Selma and Montgomery. With interactive and powerful museums, conversations with foot soldiers who marched with Martin Luther King Jr, and even a gospel service, this southern state offers so much to those studying Civil Rights.
But it isn’t just civil rights on offer here. Montgomery is the state capitol and is the place Jefferson himself started the American Civil War. As the head state of the former Confederacy, slavery was a part of life in the 1800’s, and the city has many emotive and educational sights on offer to learn about how both civil events changed the world today.
