Football tour to the Midlands

Bath City FC’s u16s visited us in the Midlands this Easter for a football tour to remember.

With their original plans to Holland having to change, the MSG team rose to the challenge and pulled together an amazing long weekend in the UK. Leaving early from their ground in Bath, the group made their way north to St George’s Park. Here the players were put through their paces by Game Changer Performance, working on strength and recovery. The parents meanwhile were hard at work in the on-site Hilton hotel, making sure that everything at the bar was in order.

The following day, the group rose early and made their way to Alton Towers for a full day at the theme park before returning back for a curry evening in Derby. On Sunday, they made the journey to semi-pro outfit Quorn FC’s ground for a training session with Ammy Ninje, current Lead Phase Development coach at Notts County and the Technical Director to the Tanzanian FA. Once put through their paces, they played out a thrilling 6-3 loss to Ellistown in the Easter sun. After a bit of food, they headed back to the Jury’s Inn for the night.

On Monday they bid farewell to Derby. We couldn’t let them have a boring drive back to Bath though so we worked in a few stops on the way. First up was a 3 hour paintballing session with Deltaforce, with players and parents pitted against each other! Once they’d dusted themselves down, it was back on the road to Bristol, where they watched Bristol City Vs Sheffield United as they played out a 1-1 draw.
